GCS Malta is seeking to recruit a Software Quality Assurance Engineer to join one of Malta’s leading tech companies.

Your Responsibilities

• Developing test plans/scripts from use cases, user stories, and functional specifications.
• Reviewing quality specifications and technical design documents, providing timely feedback.
• Testing products to ensure they meet required functionality, compliance, and capacity.
• Ensuring products are usable and fit for purpose from a usability perspective.
• Identifying, recording, documenting thoroughly and track bugs.
• Identifying changes to software and hardware solutions.
• Developing training materials, including videos and user guides.
• Leading Operational Acceptance Testing, Site Acceptance Testing, User Acceptance Testing, and Customer Acceptance Testing phases.
• Offering Tier 1 early life support for operational issues post go
• live.
• Creating specimen materials and documents.
• Staying up to date with new testing tools and test strategies.

Required Skills

Possess an understanding of software QA methodologies, tools, and processes, along with the ability to articulate clear, concise, and comprehensive test plans and test cases. Skilled in both white box and black box testing methodologies, with practical experience using automated testing tools. Additionally, demonstrating proficiency in SQL and scripting languages, coupled with familiarity with Microsoft server and/or Linux operating systems. Excellent technical analytical and IT engineering problem solving is required.

Qualifications and Experience

The ideal candidates must be in possession of a Higher Level of Education in Software Engineering and/or Computer Science whilst a Degree in Computer Science or a related field is desirable but not essential. A minimum of 2 years’ experience in software quality assurance is required.
