GCS Malta is looking for a Junior Court Litigation Associate to work with one of Malta’s leading financial companies.
Your Responsibilities
- Assisting with court procedures necessary for the company’s enforcement.
- Liaise with external lawyers on court
- related matters.
- Drafting, preparing, and filing judicial acts and related documents.
- Preparing court files as needed.
- Collecting data and documents for court proceedings.
- Representing the company in court.
- Assisting the staff during court sittings.
- Working with enforcement officers and reporting to enforcement management.
- Reviewing inspection reports and preparing administrative measures.
- Leading periodic exercises by the Enforcement Section.
- Collaborating with local and international authorities on enforcement actions.
- Organizing and delivering AML training and public awareness.
- Representing the Unit in court, tribunals, or other adjudications.
- Reporting on court proceedings and judgments involving the company.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Required Skills
Fluency in Maltese and English is a must whilst proficiency in the use of Microsoft Office and office automation tools is required.
Qualifications and Experience
The selected candidate must possess an LL.B (Hons), LL.D, M.Adv. Degree, or an equivalent academic qualification, along with a warrant or registration to practice advocacy in Malta. A minimum of 2 years of court experience is considered an asset. Ideally, the candidate should have a good understanding of the regulations governing the prevention of money laundering and funding of terrorism in Malta, be familiar with EU directives and related local legislation, and have experience applying anti-money laundering and counter-terrorism funding laws.
