Sous Chef

GCS Malta is looking for a Sous Chef to join one of Malta's leading companies within hospitality and entertainment.

Your Responsibilities

  • Assisting in managing kitchen operations and leading the team
  • Preparing and expediting food for efficient service
  • Taking charge of the kitchen in the absence of senior chefs
  • Assisting in menu development and recipe creation
  • Maintaining equipment and ensuring HACCP and cleaning standards
  • Monitoring food, staff, and energy costs
  • Reporting to senior management and guiding team members
  • Ensuring safety, sanitation, and adherence to health standards
  • Following and enforcing company policies and procedures

Required Skills

Ideally, strong problem-solving skills, organizational skills and a great attention to detail are required within this role. Good command of the English language is a must, whilst Maltese is a plus. Flexible to work on weekends and public holidays is essential.

Qualifications and Experience

The ideal candidate must have at least 3 years’ experience in Hotel Operation is considered an asset.
