GCS Malta is seeking to recruit a Sushi Chef to join one of Malta's leading companies within hospitality and entertainment.

Your Responsibilities

  • Participating in daily sushi section operations to ensure timely preparation and quality
  • Mentoring junior chefs to maintain techniques and consistency
  • Preparing sushi dishes according to recipes and preparation standards
  • Managing inventory, including ordering and restocking ingredients
  • Maintaining cleanliness and organization of the sushi station per health regulations
  • Following food hygiene standards and site allergen procedure
  • Collaborating with kitchen and front

  • Monitoring food costs and portion control to minimize waste
  • Conducting quality checks on sushi before serving
  • Overseeing shift operations and coordinating tasks during busy periods

Required Skills

A strong understanding of basic kitchen preparation, various dishes, and cooking methods is essential for this role, along with knowledge of authentic and substitute ingredients. Applicants must be available to work on a shift basis and in a busy kitchen environment.

Qualifications and Experience

The ideal candidate must be in possession of a Food Handler License and a Valid Skills Pass, whilst experience working in a kitchen environment is considered an asset.
