Automation Specialist

GCS Malta is looking for an Automation Specialist to work with one of Malta's leading technology companies.

Your Responsibilities

• Serving as a technical reference for fault
• finding in machine sequential logic.
• Managing and delivering machine, process, and infrastructure projects, including design, procurement, installation, validation, and commissioning.
• Providing technical training to Maintenance and Operations teams.
• Communicating project updates through handovers, reports, and presentations.
• Preparing technical documentation for new projects, installations, and modifications.
• Liaising with OEMs and suppliers for equipment and service requirements.
• Leading Acceptance Tests at OEM and manufacturing sites.
• Applying Lean Manufacturing and Continuous Improvement principles.
• Monitoring major breakdowns, assessing conditions, and reporting progress.
• Ensuring compliance with company policies, safety standards, and ethical guidelines.

Required Skills

Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, coupled with experience in a production or manufacturing environment, ensuring a hands-on approach to support the engineering team are required. This role requires strong communication skills to effectively engage both technical and non-technical audiences

Qualifications and Experience

The ideal candidate must hold an Electronic Engineering certification and have a strong background in electronics fault finding. Expertise in programmable logic controllers (PLCs) such as Siemens, Mitsubishi, and/or Allen Bradley is considered an asset.
