GCS Malta is looking for a Data Engineer to join a top service provider in Malta. The selected candidate will be an integral part of a dynamic data engineering team, contributing to the design, development, and maintenance of data infrastructure.

Your Responsibilities

• Designing, building, and maintaining data pipelines and repositories.
• Collaborating with analysts to define technical solutions.
• Optimizing data pipelines for performance and scalability.
• Ensuring data quality through validation and cleansing.
• Implementing data security and privacy best practices.
• Providing 24/7 support for data infrastructure.
• Staying updated on data technologies and AI advancements.

Required Skills

The ideal candidate will have strong skills in SQL and Python, with experience in data warehousing, data lakes (e.g., Dremio, Snowflake, Databricks, AWS S3), and cloud platforms. Familiarity with tools like Airflow, dbt, and Kubernetes, along with knowledge of data modelling and Linux, is preferred. Experience in telecommunications and database administration is a plus.

Qualifications and Experience

Applicants must be in possession of a Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Engineering or a related field, whilst 2+ years' experience of experience as a Data Engineer or a similar role is considered an asset.
