GCS Malta is looking for a Head of AML Compliance & MLRO to work with a leading global payments and banking for the digital platform.
The ideal candidate should hold an ACAMS, ICA Diploma, or equivalent AML certification, with at least 8 years of experience in AML, financial crime, or regulatory compliance—preferably within an EMI, PSP, or Fintech environment. Proven senior AML leadership experience, including MLRO responsibilities and MFSA approval, is highly desirable.
A strong understanding of Maltese AML laws, FIAU guidance, MFSA regulations, and EU financial crime frameworks is essential. The role also requires experience in managing high-risk sectors, complex corporate structures, transaction monitoring, risk assessments, STR filing, and regulatory reporting.
Excellent leadership, analytical and decision-making skills are needed.

Responsibilities
- Acting as MLRO and ensuring AML/CTF compliance
- Developing and implementing AML policies and risk frameworks
- Liaising with regulators, banks, and law enforcement on AML matters
- Managing STR submissions and escalation processes
- Preparing AML risk reports for senior management and regulators
- Overseeing CDD, EDD, and transaction monitoring
- Maintaining key AML risk assessments and frameworks
- Providing AML input on new products and high-risk clients
- Delivering AML training and promoting compliance culture
- Aligning AML strategies with senior leadership across jurisdictions
