GCS Malta is seeking to recruit an AML/CFT Compliance Associate to join a local public agency.
Responsibilities
- Conducting onsite and offsite reviews of remedial actions taken by subject persons to address AML/CFT deficiencies identified during compliance examinations.
- Participating in meetings, interviews, and follow-up visits to assess the adequacy of remedial action programmes.
- Presenting findings and contributing to discussions during internal committee meetings.
- Drafting official correspondence and preparing internal reports related to remediation outcomes.
- Supporting the identification and reporting of material weaknesses in line with regulatory obligations.
- Liaising and coordinating with relevant authorities and stakeholders for AML/CFT-related matters.
- Delivering AML/CFT training to subject persons, supervisory officers, and other relevant entities.
- Contributing to evaluations and assessments by local and international bodies.
- Performing other related duties as assigned by senior management.
The ideal candidate should possess a University Degree or an equivalent MQF Level 6 qualification in Risk Management, Banking, or a related field, along with at least 3 years of relevant experience. Alternatively, candidates with an MQF Level 5 qualification and a minimum of 4 years of related experience will also be considered.
Applicants should have a solid understanding of Malta’s AML/CFT laws, EU legislation, and international standards, with experience in conducting AML/CFT checks, report writing, or audit engagements. Familiarity with sectors such as gaming, TCSPs, investments, or virtual financial assets is also required.
Strong analytical and report writing skills are essential. Fluency in English and proficiency in using Microsoft office applications are also required.
