IT Operations Specialist

GCS Malta is looking for an IT Operations Specialist to join one of Malta's top service providers. The selected candidate will be reporting to the IT Operations Manager.

Responsibilities

• Overseeing daily IT operations to ensure stable and efficient system performance
• Providing technical support for hardware, software, networks, and cloud services
• Administering Microsoft environments (Windows Server, Active Directory, Exchange, Azure), VMware, and backup systems
• Monitoring system health and responding promptly to incidents
• Assisting in implementing cybersecurity measures and ensuring compliance
• Maintaining thorough and up-to-date system documentation
• Supporting IT process improvements and policy development
• Collaborating with internal teams and external vendors to ensure effective IT service delivery

Applicants should hold certifications in Microsoft, VMware, or Cisco (e.g., CCNA), as well as the ITIL4 Specialist: Create, Deliver, and Support certification. A minimum of 5–7 years of experience in IT infrastructure support—preferably within the telecommunications or service industry—is considered an asset.

The ideal candidate should have solid expertise in Microsoft operating systems and services, including Active Directory, Azure AD, Domain Controllers, Microsoft 365, SharePoint, and Exchange. Hands-on experience with VMware environments and backup technologies is essential, along with a sound understanding of Cisco networking and security solutions. A strong emphasis on cybersecurity is required, as well as excellent problem-solving and troubleshooting skills with a proactive and analytical approach.
