GCS Malta is looking for a Quantity Surveyor Officer to work with one of Malta’s leading building services companies.
Responsibilities
- Preparing cost estimates for installation projects.
- Assisting in tendering and bills of quantities preparation.
- Reviewing contracts, payments, and retention terms.
- Preparing interim claims and project invoices.
- Monitoring project costs and budget adherence.
- Managing variations and negotiating with subcontractors.
- Assessing completed work and processing payments.
- Identifying cost and procurement risks and advising contractually.
- Collaborating with project teams for cost control.
- Performing quantity take-offs and liaising with Procurement, Finance, and Drafting.
- Researching pricing for materials and subcontractor services.
- Preparing estimates and documentation for bids.
- Analyzing costs and assisting in budgeting and forecasting.
- Liaising with clients, subcontractors, and Finance on claims and certificates.
The chosen candidate must hold a Bachelor’s Degree in Quantity Surveying, Construction Management or a related field, whilst previous experience in a similar role is considered an asset.
This role demands strong mathematical skills, a solid understanding of construction materials and their costs, and proficiency in quantity surveying and purchasing software. Excellent negotiation, analytical, and problem-solving abilities are also essential.
Excellent computer skills (Excel, Microsoft Word, email software like Outlook, and knowledge of Autodesk True View) is a must.
