GCS Malta is looking for a Prepress Manager to work with one of Malta's leading printing companies.
Responsibilities
- Supporting leadership in executing the Currency strategy and propositions.
- Providing subject matter expertise for decisions and strategic planning.
- Upholding governance, compliance, and operational disciplines.
- Ensuring operational plans are met in quality, quantity, and timing.
- Tracking and forecasting inventory, consumables, and job costs; creating cost models.
- Strengthening collaboration between technical teams and site operations.
- Leading continuous improvement initiatives to enhance team engagement.
- Maintaining platemaking standards required for Bank of England production.
- Supplying prepress materials to central planning and other sites/customers.
- Identifying training needs, succession planning, and development paths.
- Implementing flexible labor models to optimize resource use.
- Matching workforce availability to medium/long-term production plans.
- Capturing job variances and updating job estimates for quality reporting.
- Identifying new technologies and preparing approval requests for investment.
- Updating SOPs, FMEAs, control plans, and ensuring retraining as needed.
- Benchmarking against other sites and suppliers to adopt best practices.
- Applying Lean, 5S, and Continuous Improvement principles.
- Driving SSQCDP performance through shop-floor management.
The chosen candidate must be in possession of a Bachelor's Degree level or equivalent in a science subject, whilst experience working in planning or production and people management is considered an asset, as well as security print experience.
One must demonstrate strong technical aptitude—gained through formal training or hands-on experience—along with solid quality assurance awareness and problem-solving skills. Expertise in continuous improvement and a lean manufacturing approach is essential.
Strong analytical skills and attention to detail are essential, along with excellent technical report-writing and presentation abilities.
