GCS Malta is seeking a Tax Officer for a prominent limited liability company.
Responsibilities
- Preparing and reviewing corporate tax returns, VAT filings, and other submissions
- Assisting with tax computations, deferred tax, and provisions for financial reporting
- Ensuring timely compliance with tax deadlines and regulatory requirements
- Supporting transfer pricing, economic substance, and audit documentation
- Responding to client tax and VAT queries, providing guidance
- Liaising with tax authorities on audits and assessments
- Supporting Head of Tax and senior team members in client services
- Drafting and maintaining internal tax policies, checklists, and working papers
- Monitoring tax developments and participating in CPD and professional training
- Assisting with client onboarding, KYC/AML, and initial compliance checks
- Contributing to process improvements and team knowledge-sharing
Candidates should hold a Bachelor’s Degree in Accountancy, Taxation, Law, or a related field (part-qualified professionals or those pursuing ACCA, ADIT, or equivalent are also eligible) and possess an MIT Award in Taxation. Previous experience in tax compliance, accounting, or a related role within professional services or financial services is considered an advantage.
The role demands strong knowledge of Maltese corporate tax, VAT, and international tax regulations, including transfer pricing and economic substance rules. Excellent technical and analytical skills, with a keen eye for detail in tax computations and compliance, are essential.
Candidates must possess excellent organizational, interpersonal, and teamwork skills, along with proficiency in MS Office and familiarity with accounting or tax software/tools.
