AML & Compliance Analyst

GCS Malta is looking for an AML & Compliance Analyst to work with a leading firm in Malta.

 

Responsibilities

• Conducting full CDD on new and existing clients, ensuring accuracy, completeness, and regulatory compliance.
• Identifying beneficial owners, verifying corporate structures, and assessing the purpose of business relationships.
• Applying EDD for higher-risk clients (PEPs, sanctions, complex structures, high-risk jurisdictions, adverse media).
• Documenting findings clearly in compliance systems and corporate software.
• Identifying and escalating gaps, inconsistencies, or missing information.
• Ensuring risk ratings remain accurate at onboarding and throughout the relationship.
• Monitoring customer activity through periodic and event-driven reviews.
• Detecting red flags, unusual behaviour, and escalating concerns to the Compliance Officer.
• Addressing and recording sanctions, PEP, and adverse media screening results.
• Performing screening checks and conducting OSINT research when needed.
• Producing clear and concise compliance reports, assessments, and memos.
• Maintaining a complete audit trail of decisions and rationale.

 

The ideal candidate holds an ICA Certificate or Diploma in AML, Governance, Risk & Compliance, complemented by professional qualifications such as ACAMS, CISI International Introduction to Securities & Investment or Risk in Financial Services, and STEP Certificate or Diploma for trust and corporate services.

Applicants should have strong organizational skills and keen attention to detail, with the ability to work independently as well as collaboratively within a team. A proactive and solution-oriented mindset when addressing challenges is essential.

Proficiency in Microsoft Office and fluency in both written and spoken English is required.
