GCS Malta is looking for a Risk Officer to join a Financial Service Provider in Malta. The Risk Officer will report directly to the Compliance and Risk Committee of the Board of Directors, with day-to-day reporting to the Compliance and Risk Manager.

 

Responsibilities

  • Recommending and reviewing Risk Policy and Risk Attitude with the Board
  • Identifying, assessing, and mitigating business risks; maintaining the Risk Register
  • Collecting and reporting KRIs; analyzing trends and ensuring controls
  • Supporting Group Risk Function and Senior Risk Manager; delivering risk training
  • Promoting a risk-aware culture and providing quarterly reports to the Board
  • Drafting and implementing GDPR policies; monitoring compliance
  • Advising staff on data protection obligations; maintaining RoPA
  • Liaising with IDPC on breaches, queries, and investigations
  • Producing DPO reports for the Board
  • Conducting CMP reviews and spot-checks
  • Drafting internal/external compliance reports
  • Assisting with policies, staff queries, and regulatory updates
  • Maintaining Compliance inbox and performing KYE checks

 

Candidates must hold a degree and have at least 5 years of experience in the Maltese Financial Services industry, which is considered an asset.

The ideal candidate should be knowledgeable in relevant regulations, familiar with pension schemes, skilled at communicating complex information, experienced in database management, and proficient in office software.

One must have the ability to manage own deadlines, work accurately under pressure, and handle assigned projects independently.
