Junior Legal Counsel

GCS Malta is looking for a Junior Legal Counsel to work with one of Malta’s technical leading companies.

 

Responsibilities

• Drafting, reviewing, and negotiating contracts, NDAs, and other legal documents.
• Researching and advising on legal risks related to business operations.
• Maintaining and updating the company’s contract database.
• Overseeing document execution using e-signature tools.
• Assisting with AML and KYC checks as required.
• Drafting, updating, and amending internal policies and procedures.
• Updating and maintaining standard internal contract templates.
• Supporting the DPO in staff training on data protection compliance.
• Assisting the DPO in monitoring data management procedures.
• Identifying and tracking legal issues and advising on solutions.
• Performing other legal tasks as required.

 

The ideal candidate must hold a Law Degree from an accredited institution and be a warranted lawyer in an EU country with a valid license to practice law, with a minimum of 2 years’ experience in a law firm or as in-house counsel considered an asset.

This role requires a solid understanding of Maltese and European law, experience in drafting commercial contracts, and knowledge of commercial law, preferably within telecommunications, e-commerce, IT, software, or technology sectors, along with expertise in data protection and legal compliance.

One must have excellent communication, teamwork and people skills, with the ability to build strong relationships.
