GCS Malta is looking for a Pre-Operative Nurse to join one of Malta’s leading Hospitals.

 

Responsibilities

  • Conducting pre-operative assessments in line with hospital policies and procedures.
  • Performing clinical observations, clerking, blood draws, and pre-operative ECGs.
  • Providing patients with pre-operative guidance on fasting, medications, and post-operative care.
  • Liaising with anaesthetists, surgeons, and colleagues to ensure smooth clinic operations.
  • Completing and saving all required documentation using hospital digital systems.
  • Acting as a role model in professional conduct, appearance, and adherence to hospital standards.
  • Participating in unit projects, encouraging innovation and process improvement.
  • Handling complaints professionally and in accordance with hospital policies.
  • Performing any additional tasks to support efficient Pre-Operative Clinic operations.

 

The ideal candidate should hold a recognized Degree in Nursing and possess a current license as a Registered Nurse with the Nurses & Midwives Council of Malta.

This role requires in-depth knowledge of nursing care practices and emergency procedures, along with the ability to communicate effectively with patients, families, and medical staff at all levels within the hospital.

Excellent interpersonal, time management, and organizational skills, with the ability to work effectively both independently and collaboratively, are essential.
