GCS Malta is seeking to recruit a Motor Claims Manager to join one of Malta's leading insurance companies.
Responsibilities
- Leading complex motor claims, including BI, liability disputes, and catastrophic losses
- Reviewing surveys, repairs, and reserves to ensure accurate technical decisions
- Providing guidance and coaching to claims handlers and team members
- Managing legal correspondence, supporting litigation, and representing the company in courts
- Ensuring compliance with policies, regulations, and industry standards
- Overseeing claims workflows, payments, and operational controls
- Monitoring vendor performance and negotiating costs with repairers and suppliers
- Driving SLA compliance and process improvements across claims operations
- Leading, developing, and mentoring the Motor Claims team
- Acting as liaison between Claims, Underwriting, Finance, and other departments
- Communicating technical decisions clearly to internal and external stakeholders
- Representing the company in industry forums and maintaining key external relationships
Candidates should ideally hold or be nearing completion of the ACII qualification. Additional qualifications, such as a Degree in Insurance, Banking & Finance, Risk Management, Business, or a related field, along with a recognized insurance certification, are considered an advantage. A strong background of 7–10 years in senior motor claims roles, including team leadership and operational management, is highly desirable.
This role demands solid expertise in motor liability principles, vehicle repair processes, BI calculations, VAT procedures, and both Maltese and international insurance regulations. Strong communication, leadership and analytical skills are essential.
The ideal candidate must be fully fluent in Maltese and English, and be proficient in claims systems, estimating tools, MS Office, and analytics platforms such as Power BI.
