Senior Data Engineer

GCS Malta is looking for a Senior Data Engineer to work with one of Malta’s leading insurance companies. 
 

Responsibilities

• Working with business users to deliver clear, trusted, and actionable insights
• Developing, supporting, and enhancing SSIS ETL pipelines across multiple source systems
• Designing, developing, and maintaining SSRS reports for operational, management, and regulatory purposes
• Creating and maintaining Power BI datasets, models, and dashboards
• Contributing to the design and development of the company’s data warehouse
• Implementing data quality, validation, reconciliation, and monitoring processes
• Acting as a senior technical contributor within the Data Management function
• Mentoring junior team members and promoting best practices in data engineering and reporting
• Collaborating with business, governance, and IT teams
• Contributing to architectural decisions and the long-term data and analytics roadmap

The ideal candidate must have over 5 years’ experience in data engineering, BI engineering or similar. 

One must have strong data warehousing knowledge, experience with relational databases, SSIS, SSRS, and Power BI, and proficiency in SQL and data modelling. They understand data governance and quality controls, work well in Agile environments, and have proven experience designing and building data warehouses from inception to production.

Strong teamwork, proactive and organization skills are essential.
