GCS Malta is seeking a Risk Manager to work with one of Malta’s leading financial companies.
The ideal candidate should hold a degree in Finance, Economics, Risk Management, or a related discipline, with experience in a risk management role within an AIFM or a regulated financial services firm considered a strong asset.
One should have strong knowledge of AIFMD, MFSA rules, and EU regulatory requirements, along with a solid understanding of alternative investment strategies and their associated risk profiles.
Familiarity with cross-border and passporting arrangements, particularly involving Luxembourg, and prior MFSA approval for a regulated role are considered assets but not essential. The candidate must also possess strong analytical, reporting, and documentation skills, and be able to engage effectively with Boards, senior management, and regulators.

Responsibilities
- Establishing and maintaining the AIFM Risk Management Framework in line with AIFMD and MFSA requirements
- Identifying, assessing, monitoring, and reporting on market, liquidity, credit, counterparty, operational, and other risks
- Overseeing liquidity risk management, including stress testing and ongoing monitoring
- Developing, reviewing, and maintaining risk policies, procedures, and limits
- Preparing and presenting risk reports to senior management and the Board of Directors
- Conducting risk assessments for new funds, investment strategies, instruments, and counterparties
- Liaising with Compliance, Portfolio Management, Fund Administrators, Depositaries, auditors, and regulators
- Supporting regulatory reporting and interactions with the MFSA and other EU authorities, including passported activities
- Monitoring and assessing regulatory developments affecting the AIFM’s risk framework
