Senior Accounts Executive

GCS Malta is seeking a Senior Accounts Executive to join a 5-star hotel. 
 

Responsibilities

• Assisting with monthly, quarterly, and annual management accounts.
• Maintaining the general ledger, reconciling accounts, and handling journal entries.
• Managing accounts payable and receivable and ensuring accurate revenue recording.
• Performing daily revenue reconciliations and investigating discrepancies.
• Supporting year-end closing and coordinating with auditors.
• Monitoring costs, inventory, and stock for F&B outlets.
• Ensuring compliance with accounting standards and regulatory obligations.
• Supporting budgeting, forecasting, and financial performance analysis.
• Providing financial insights and recommendations to improve efficiency and profitability.
• Collaborating with department heads and liaising with IT systems as needed.
• Preparing and filing reports, maintaining documentation, and meeting deadlines.
• Identifying opportunities to control costs and enhance departmental performance.

Applicants should ideally hold a Diploma or Degree in Accounting, Finance or a related field, whilst at least 2 years’ accounting experience, preferably in the hospitality sector is considered an asset. 

This role requires experience in hotel accounting and operations, with proven knowledge of implementing and enforcing internal controls, policies, and procedures. Proficiency with hotel accounting systems, including Opera, Micros, and Sun Systems, is essential. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, organized, and skilled in financial reporting, with strong time management. Experience with SUN Accounts and Micros-Fidelio Materials Control is preferred.

Strong communication, organizational and analytical skills are needed, along with proficiency in using Microsoft office applications.
