GCS Malta is looking for an MLRO & Compliance Officer to work within a group of companies.
The ideal candidate should hold a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree, together with relevant professional qualifications. Over 10 years’ experience in establishing and/or working within a compliance function is considered an asset, with prior experience in financial services and in liaising with regulatory authorities preferred.
One must demonstrate a solid understanding of local and international tax and regulatory frameworks, including exposure to CRS, FATCA, BEPS, and GAAP. Knowledge of trust and fund business services, as well as experience within the TSP and CSP sectors, will be considered an advantage.
A strong commercial mindset is essential, with the ability to take initiative and maintain a proactive, focused, and target-driven approach.
Excellent command of the English language is required, with fluency in an additional language considered an advantage.

Responsibilities
- Developing and implementing compliance frameworks, policies, and controls.
- Ensuring adherence to group policies and local regulatory requirements.
- Monitoring client onboarding, transactions, and risk profiles.
- Conducting compliance reviews, audits, and due diligence.
- Acting as liaison with regulators and managing regulatory filings and audits.
- Identifying, escalating, and resolving compliance risks and breaches.
- Overseeing KYC, AML/CFT, and Anti-Bribery controls.
- Managing compliance projects and supporting business strategy.
- Providing compliance training and guidance to staff.
- Preparing compliance and risk reports for senior management.
- Maintaining client relationships and ensuring ongoing regulatory compliance.
- Recording chargeable time and meeting productivity targets.
