GCS Malta is seeking to recruit a Commis Chef to join the team at one of Malta’s prestigious venues & caterer.
 

Responsibilities

  • Assisting in food preparation and basic cooking tasks.
  • Preparing ingredients such as chopping vegetables and measuring portions.
  • Maintaining cleanliness and organization of the kitchen and workstations.
  • Following recipes and instructions from senior chefs.
  • Ensuring food safety and hygiene standards are maintained.
  • Assisting with plating and presentation of dishes.
  • Monitoring stock levels and helping with kitchen inventory.
  • Supporting the kitchen team during busy service periods.

Applicants holding a certificate in Culinary Arts or a Diploma in Professional Cookery will be preferred, while 1–2 years of experience in a similar role or within a high-volume professional kitchen environment will be considered an asset.

This role requires strong knife skills and a basic understanding of various cooking methods, along with the ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced environment. A team-oriented attitude and a genuine passion for food are essential.

The ideal candidate must be able to work flexible hours, including weekends, evenings and holidays.
