GCS Malta is looking for a Financial Controller - MEP & Maintenance to work with leading contracting company in Malta.
The ideal candidate must hold a Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Finance or related, a professional qualification such as ACCA, CPA, CMA, ACA is preferred. Minimum of 7-10 years' experience in financial management, with at least 3 years in an MEP or construction is considered an asset.
The ideal candidate has a strong understanding of revenue recognition for contracting businesses, including cost-to-cost and percentage-of-completion methods.
One must possess hands-on experience managing complex project accounting and multi-year contract cycles, proficient in ERP systems and advanced Excel modeling, and have solid knowledge of tax, audit processes, and regulatory compliance.

Responsibilities
- Leading preparation of management accounts and financial reporting per GAAPSME
- Preparing cash flow forecasts and monitoring KPIs, project performance, and WIP
- Developing budgets and rolling forecasts
- Overseeing project cost allocation, reviewing cost reports, and validating CTC and margin forecasts
- Monitoring procurement and ensuring budget compliance
- Managing cash flow, collections, payments, and retention schedules
- Implementing internal controls and ensuring compliance with tax, audit, and regulatory requirements
- Supervising the finance team, providing training, performance feedback, and fostering cross-department collaboration
