The ideal candidate should hold a Diploma or Degree in insurance, finance, business, or a related field, with prior experience in life insurance underwriting considered an advantage.
This role requires strong analytical and decision-making skills, attention to detail, and the ability to interpret complex information. Candidates should have clear communication skills, sound commercial awareness, and a high level of integrity and professionalism.
Strong organisational skills, the ability to manage multiple cases, and the capability to work both independently and within a team are also essential.

Responsibilities
- Evaluating life insurance applications by analysing medical, financial, and lifestyle information.
- Assessing risk in line with underwriting guidelines, regulatory requirements, and company policies.
- Determining appropriate ratings, exclusions, or decisions based on risk assessments.
- Requesting and interpreting supporting evidence, including medical reports, lab results, financial statements, and third-party data.
- Collaborating with sales teams, advisors, and customer service to progress applications.
- Maintaining accurate documentation and ensuring decisions are justified and compliant.
- Contributing to improvements in underwriting processes, tools, and guidelines.
- Supporting training and knowledge sharing for junior underwriters.
- Staying updated on industry trends, medical advancements, and regulatory changes.
