GCS Malta is seeking to recruit an EPHS Officer to join an international pharmaceutical company. The chosen candidate will be assisting the EPHS Manager.
The ideal candidate must be in possession of at least an Advanced Diploma in Environmental Science or other science subject or occupational health & safety, whilst previous experience in a similar role will be considered an asset.
This role requires effective communication skills and the ability to collaborate with team members across all departments. It demands a strong commitment to working safely and meeting deadlines, as well as the ability to handle pressure, adapt to changing priorities, and remain focused when challenges arise.
Fluency in English is essential, along with strong computer literacy and proficiency in standard software applications.

Responsibilities
- Planning and reviewing risk assessments
- Investigating incidents and accidents, following up, coordinating meetings, and closing reports
- Managing storage, distribution, and stock of PPE
- Supporting and implementing occupational hygiene campaigns onsite
- Assisting with scheduled routine activities
- Participating in internal audits as required
- Leading and following up CAPA initiatives from safety processes
- Supporting the Health and Safety Committee
- Managing personnel training programs
- Conducting HSE campaigns to improve safety culture
- Overseeing water treatment operations and controlling WWTP discharge
- Commissioning studies to improve the WWTP
- Classifying and segregating waste
- Liaising with waste management subcontractors
- Managing hazardous and non-hazardous waste, including transfers and documentation
- Maintaining ISO 14001 procedures and documentation
- Assisting with environmental campaigns and routine activities
- Supporting compliance with environmental permits and legal requirements
- Assisting in conducting fire drills
- Following GMP standards and contributing to continuous improvement
