GCS Malta is seeking a Systems Analyst to work with one of Malta's leading insurance group of companies.
The ideal candidate should hold a Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Information Systems or related and a Master’s Degree in Computer Science or a Business related field, whilst at least 3-5 years’ experience in Information Systems Analysis within the SDLC is an asset, along with business process reengineering experience.
Project Management certifications such as PRINCE2, PMP, or Agile (Scrum Master) are considered assets, along with familiarity with ITIL practices. Possession of a TOGAF® 9 certification is also regarded as a valuable advantage.
The role requires strong technical expertise in hardware, software, and programming, with knowledge of PL/SQL, .NET, Java, and JavaScript considered an asset. Excellent communication, interpersonal, analytical, and organizational skills are essential, along with proficiency in Microsoft Office and the ability to quickly learn new systems. Travel may be required.

Responsibilities

Understanding business needs, researching, and identifying suitable technology solutions
- Analysing systems and workflows to identify improvements
- Preparing RFQs, evaluating suppliers, and selecting solutions
- Assessing feasibility of corporate technology within local systems
- Supporting cost estimation and project planning
- Participating in system design and integration following best practices
- Modelling business processes and defining requirements with stakeholders
- Preparing documentation and coordinating security testing and resolutions
- Defining, validating, and supporting development of system prototypes
- Liaising with suppliers during development phases
- Planning and executing testing (UAT, test cases, scripts) and tracking issue resolution
- Supporting go-live activities and post-implementation testing
- Delivering user training and knowledge transfer documentation
- Implementing best practices for system performance and scalability
- Deploying, maintaining, and troubleshooting business applications and infrastructure
