GCS Malta is seeking to recruit a Senior Networks & Security Engineer to join one of Malta’s leading group of companies within the tech industry.
The ideal candidate should hold relevant certifications such as Fortinet NSE 5–7, Cisco CCNP, Palo Alto PCNSE, or other recognised networking/security qualifications. At least 5 years of experience in enterprise networking and security roles is considered an asset, along with hands-on experience with firewalls and security platforms.
This role requires advanced knowledge of routing and switching, including VLANs, OSPF, BGP, and STP, along with experience in SD-WAN solutions and VPN technologies such as IPsec and SSL VPN. Candidates should have experience working in multi-site, multi-tenant environments and a proven track record of supporting mission-critical systems.
Strong analytical, problem-solving and communication skills are essential, as well as having the ability to work independently and as part of a senior technical team.

Responsibilities
- Designing, implementing, and maintaining enterprise network infrastructures (LAN, WAN, SD-WAN, VPN, MPLS)
- Leading network migrations, upgrades, and infrastructure redesigns
- Architecting high-availability, redundancy, and failover solutions
- Creating and maintaining network diagrams, documentation, and SOPs
- Designing and managing network security architectures, including firewalls, segmentation, and zero-trust models
- Deploying and managing NGFWs, IDS/IPS, VPNs, and secure remote access solutions
- Leading incident response, root-cause analysis, and post-incident reporting
- Ensuring compliance with security frameworks such as ISO 27001 and NIST
- Acting as Level 3 escalation point for complex network and security issues
- Performing deep packet inspection, traffic analysis, and performance optimisation
- Identifying and mitigating network risks, bottlenecks, and security gaps
- Mentoring and supporting junior (L1/L2) engineers
- Contributing to pre-sales, solution design, and client workshops
- Collaborating with project managers and operations teams to ensure successful delivery
