GCS Malta is looking for a Senior Commercial Underwriter to work with one of Malta’s leading insurance companies.
The ideal candidate must hold an ACII qualification or working towards obtaining it, whilst at least 7 years’ experience of relevant underwriting experience, specifically within commercial and marine products is considered an asset.
One must have strong organizational, communication and interpersonal skills with both the ability to work well within a team and independently.
Proficiency in using Microsoft Word and Excel is essential.

Responsibilities
- Underwriting new business, renewals, and adjustments within set guidelines
- Assessing risks, setting terms and pricing, and escalating complex cases
- Managing client and intermediary relationships to drive retention and growth
- Monitoring renewals and identifying cross-selling opportunities
- Supporting team operations and guiding junior staff
- Ensuring accurate data entry and timely processing of policies and documentation
- Handling enquiries and maintaining high service standards
- Collaborating with internal teams and senior management on operations and strategy
- Assisting with product development and resolving complex issues
- Meeting profitability, retention, and performance targets
