GCS Malta is seeking a DevOps Engineer to join one of Malta's leading service providers. The chosen candidate will form part of the Software Delivery team, and the role of the DevOps Engineer is to build, test, and maintain the infrastructure and tools to speed up and automate aspects of the software release life cycle.
If you are in possession of a Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Systems Engineer, or another related field, then this one's for you! A minimum of 3 years of experience in a DevOps or similar position is a must.
The ideal candidate should have strong experience with Docker and Kubernetes, along with hands-on CI/CD knowledge, preferably GitLab. A solid understanding of databases, load balancing, and SSL is required, as well as familiarity with monitoring tools like Grafana and Prometheus. Proficiency in Python and Bash is essential.
Excellent analytical, problem-solving and troubleshooting skills are required along with the ability to communicate technical concepts clearly.

Responsibilities
- Designing, implementing, and maintaining CI/CD pipelines
- Managing and optimising containerised environments using Docker and Kubernetes
- Administering and maintaining database systems (MariaDB, MySQL, Oracle, PostgreSQL)
- Configuring load balancers, SSL certificates, and secure communications
- Monitoring system performance and reliability using tools such as Grafana and Prometheus
- Developing automation scripts using Python and/or Bash
- Collaborating with developers and QA teams to support test automation
- Troubleshooting infrastructure, deployment, and performance issues
- Improving system scalability, resilience, and operational efficiency
