GCS Malta is looking for a Mechanical Cost Estimator to work with leading building-services company in Malta.
The selected candidate must possess proven experience in HVAC, ventilation, and heat pump estimation, cost control, or tendering, together with experience in building services and related systems. A strong background in BOQ preparation, cost estimation, and bid analysis will be considered an asset.
This role requires a strong understanding of HVAC systems, thermodynamics, and mechanical design principles, together with the ability to interpret technical drawings, specifications, and tender documents. Knowledge of system sizing and basic design concepts is essential, along with familiarity with estimation and design software such as AutoCAD, Revit, and Excel-based tools.
A strong commercial mindset with the ability to balance cost, quality and competitiveness is needed, along with excellent analytical, numerical and communication skills.

Responsibilities
- Reviewing client enquiries, specifications, and tender documents.
- Preparing cost estimates for HVAC and related systems.
- Performing quantity take-offs and cost analysis.
- Managing tender submissions, bid preparation, and pricing strategies.
- Liaising with suppliers and subcontractors for quotations.
- Preparing technical and commercial proposals.
- Supporting value engineering and cost-effective system solutions.
- Assisting with client negotiations and technical clarifications.
- Ensuring compliance with technical standards and company procedures.
- Maintaining cost databases, pricing records, and tender documentation.
- Coordinating with engineering, procurement, and project teams.
- Monitoring market trends, supplier pricing, and project costs.
- Supporting business development and tender conversion activities.
- Preparing reports on tender outcomes and cost performance.
