AML & Compliance Executive

GCS Malta is looking for an AML & Compliance Executive to work with a leading firm in Malta. 


Responsibilities

• Managing high-risk onboarding and ongoing reviews, including PEPs, high-risk jurisdictions, and complex structures
• Leading EDD and complex structure assessments with clear documentation and consistent methodology
• Applying risk assessment frameworks and justifying risk ratings in complex cases
• Reviewing and quality-checking analyst work and providing feedback
• Maintaining accurate customer and risk data in internal systems
• Coordinating escalations with MLRO, managers, and partners
• Liaising with stakeholders and clients on CDD requirements
• Delivering coaching and supporting onboarding of new joiners
• Acting as first-line escalation point for assigned areas
• Supporting AML documentation and assessments preparation

This role requires the ability to manage high-risk AML cases, oversee junior work, handle escalations, and support portfolio decision-making, while collaborating across departments to build strong working relationships.

The ideal candidate should have excellent organisational skills and strong attention to detail, with the ability to work independently and prioritise effectively.

A proactive, solution-oriented mindset is essential, along with strong coaching and mentoring abilities and a commitment to supporting the development of others.
