GCS Malta is looking for an Assistant Operations Coordinator to work with one of Malta’s leading care providers for elderly. The chosen candidate will be reporting directly to the General Manager.
 

Responsibilities

  • Managing maintenance, repairs, and general facility upkeep
  • Carrying out fire safety, Legionella, and building compliance checks
  • Coordinating cleaning, housekeeping, kitchen, and preventative maintenance schedules
  • Performing quality checks and supporting audits
  • Organising staff training with HR, including mandatory safety training
  • Supervising external contractors and service providers
  • Ensuring cleanliness, presentation, and environmental standards
  • Identifying and reporting maintenance issues and safety hazards
  • Maintaining inspection, repair, and compliance records
  • Supporting procurement and policy-compliant purchasing
  • Assisting with recruitment and interviews
  • Leading housekeeping, reception, kitchen, and maintenance teams
  • Holding regular departmental meetings and overseeing trainees
  • Supporting overall facility management in senior management absence

The ideal candidate should have at least 5 years’ experience in facilities or operations management, with a strong understanding of health and safety standards. Knowledge of OPSA standards for care homes will be considered an asset.

This role requires excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to prioritise workloads, oversee departmental budgets, and manage emergency situations effectively.

Strong proficiency in written and spoken English and Maltese is essential.
