Deputy Pharmacist

GCS Malta is seeking a Deputy Pharmacist to work with one of Malta's leading pharmaceutical companies. The chosen candidate will be reporting directly to the Managing Pharmacist.
 

Responsibilities

• Assisting the Managing Pharmacist with daily operations and covering duties when required.
• Supervising staff, supporting workflow, and assisting with training and onboarding.
• Ensuring regulatory compliance, record-keeping, and audit preparation support.
• Dispensing medicines and providing patient counselling in line with professional standards.
• Supporting POYC services, including registrations, updates, stock tracking, and reviews.
• Assisting with inventory control, including stock takes, ordering, and expiry management.
• Monitoring stock levels and supporting optimisation of slow-moving items.
• Supporting compliance reporting and continuous process improvement.
• Handling customer service, enquiries, and complaints.
• •Advising customers on medicines and pharmacy products.
• Supporting merchandising and product displays.
• Processing sales transactions and handling payments accurately.
• Ensuring clinic readiness, cleanliness, and required supplies.

The ideal candidate must hold a valid Maltese Pharmacist Warrant or be in the final stages of obtaining one.

This role requires strong organisational and communication skills, sound clinical judgement, and the ability to support safe and effective pharmacy practice.

Candidates must be able to assist in team supervision, manage multiple priorities, and contribute to the smooth and efficient running of pharmacy operations.
