GCS Malta is looking for a Group Risk Officer to join a Financial Service Provider in Malta. The chosen candidate will be reporting directly to the Group Head of Governance. 
 

Responsibilities

• Supporting the development and consistent application of the Group Risk Management Framework.
• Managing risk oversight for occupational retirement and personal pension schemes.
• Maintaining risk registers, risk appetite, KRIs, incidents, and action tracking.
• Supporting own-risk assessments and regulatory readiness activities.
• Coordinating Group-wide pension risk management with local risk teams.
• Managing and maintaining the SWORD risk management system.
• Ensuring risk registers, controls, and reporting remain accurate and up to date.
• Providing risk reporting, insights, and constructive challenge to management and governance committees.
• Conducting risk reviews and control assessments.
• Supporting operational resilience, incident escalation, and emerging risk monitoring.
• Following up on assurance actions and supporting regulatory engagement.
• Collaborating with Compliance, Internal Audit, and local Risk teams.
• Promoting a strong risk culture through guidance and awareness training.
• Supporting teams with risk ownership, escalation, and reporting practices.

Candidates should possess a degree and previous experience in enterprise, operational, or regulatory risk management within the financial services sector or another regulated industry.

The ideal candidate should have experience with risk frameworks, risk registers, controls, KRIs, risk reporting, and risk systems; SWORD experience will be considered an asset.

One must have strong analytical skills, attention to detail, sound judgement, and the ability to work independently in a global environment.
