Accounts Supervisor

GCS Malta is looking for an Accounts Supervisor to join one of Malta’s leading corporate service providers.
 

Responsibilities

• Overseeing a portfolio of clients and maintaining strong professional relationships.
• Reviewing accounting records, reconciliations and financial reports prepared by the team.
• Coordinating team workflows, workload allocation and daily accounting activities.
• Analysing financial data and preparing management reports with clear client insights.
• Ensuring financial statements, VAT returns and tax submissions meet regulatory requirements.
• Monitoring accounting records, internal controls and reporting accuracy.
• Providing technical guidance, mentoring and performance support to team members.
• Coordinating audit preparation and liaising with external auditors.
• Identifying process improvements and enhancing accounting procedures and efficiency.
• Supporting management with planning, reporting, ad-hoc tasks and client matters.

The ideal candidate should hold a Bachelor’s or Master’s in Accounting, Finance or a related field, with 6+ years of relevant experience. ACCA qualification or progress towards ACCA is considered an asset.

Strong knowledge of Maltese accounting standards, VAT and tax regulations are essential to this role. 

One must demonstrate strong technical accounting knowledge, excellent attention to detail, and strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.

Proficiency in accounting software such as Xero and strong Microsoft Excel skills are required.
