GCS Malta is searching for a Network Technician to work with one of the leading international security solutions companies in Malta. This role reports directly to the Networks Manager.
The ideal candidate should have a technical qualification or relevant practical experience in structured cabling, telecommunications, ICT, electronics or a related field, together with hands-on experience in installing and terminating copper and fibre-optic cabling.
Candidates should be proficient in copper and fibre testing, including the use of cable certifiers, optical power meters, light sources and OTDRs, with the ability to interpret technical drawings, cable schedules and rack layouts.
One must demonstrate the ability to work independently and collaboratively, communicate professionally with clients, and meet project deadlines.
A valid Category B and C driving licence is essential.

Responsibilities
- Interpreting technical drawings, cable schedules, specifications and work instructions.
- Preparing work areas and installing containment, racks, cabinets, patch panels and network equipment.
- Installing, routing, terminating, labelling and securing copper and fibre-optic cabling.
- Performing fibre splicing, termination and installation of connectors, trays and enclosures.
- Testing and certifying copper and fibre links using appropriate testing equipment.
- Identifying, troubleshooting and rectifying cabling, termination and connectivity faults.
- Installing and organising patch cords, cable management systems and rack accessories.
- Updating drawings, port schedules, test records, installation reports and job sheets.
- Coordinating with supervisors, technicians, subcontractors and client representatives.
- Ensuring compliance with safety procedures, quality standards and project requirements.
- Maintaining clean and organised work areas and safely handling tools, equipment and materials.
- Supporting installation, maintenance, upgrades and rectification work across client sites
